For the next in an on-going series of free public meetings, the Friends of the Path have invited the director of the County of Kauai’s department of parks and recreation to present his most recent quarterly report on the status of the Kapaa to Kealia Coastal Pedestrian and Bike Path. The presentation is free and open to all, and will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 6 in the Plumeria Garden Court at the Aloha Beach Resort in Wailua. Director Bernard Carvalho has presented quarterly reports to the Kauai County Council on the administration’s progress towards opening the Kapaa to Kealia portion—Phase II of the six-phase Ke Ala Hele Makalae project. This is a good opportunity to meet face-to-face with the director of the department responsible for the path’s management, and to voice any concerns regarding the island’s path systems. The August 6 public presentation will be based on Mr. Carvalho’s reports, and will be followed by a question-and-answer period. | ||
